After a log search for a job I managed to secure a months worth of work experience with a company called Aquaterra who are based in Stromness, Orkney. Their main line of business involves developing marine renewable energy technologies, but they also work with wind turbines and other terrestrial renewable projects. I have been told I will be working on a number of offshore projects, but what that entails I am not 100% sure. There is a high possibility that they will extend my contract, and I hope to become a permanent member of staff.
I begin my journey on the 10th of January with an eight and a half hour drive to Scrabster, where I will take a ferry to Stromness (might be a bit dodgy!). I will be staying on a dairy farm two miles out of Stromness. The address is Congesquoy cottage, Howe Road, Stromness, Orkney.
Im taking my bike, camera and surfboard and plan on capturing as much of Orkney as I can in my short stay. I really hope I can give you some rad pictures of the Northern lights!!
